Sprite Batch Kit — PNG Recolour & Split

When several sprite sheets share a layout, Sprite Batch Kit lets you repeat the same grid and exact colour changes across the batch. Import static PNG sheets, inspect the original and mapped previews, then download the results together.

Included workflow

• Apply one frame width, frame height, outer margin and cell spacing to every sheet.
• Replace exact RGB colours with simultaneous swaps, retaining the decoded pixel's alpha value.
• Preview each original and recoloured sheet before exporting.
• Download one ZIP containing recoloured sheets, numbered frame PNGs, preset.json and manifest.json.
• Save and reload a JSON preset for the next batch with the same layout and source colours.

The download supplies Sprite-Batch-Kit.html, README.txt and LICENSE.txt. The built-in example uses three original 48 by 32 PNG sheets with 16 by 16 frames and no margins or gaps: six frames per sheet, eighteen in the batch. Your original input files are not overwritten.

Files and compatibility

Version 0.1.0. Extract the ZIP and open Sprite-Batch-Kit.html in a desktop browser. The owner reported local-file operation in Microsoft Edge and Opera on Windows on 2 October 2026. Browser versions were not recorded. Automated checks in a desktop Chromium-based browser verified real exported pixels, alpha, ZIP integrity, frame crops, presets and validation errors. Firefox, Safari and mobile are not verified.

The app contains its own code and styles, with no product login or API key. Image processing does not use runtime AI. Its code contains no upload or analytics integration and blocks network connections. No network-disabled browser run was recorded. Buying and downloading through itch.io are separate online steps.

Limits

Use static, regular-grid PNG sheets that fit the shared grid exactly. Animated PNG and irregular or trimmed atlases are unsupported. The app enforces at most 32 sheets, 16 MiB per input, 4096 pixels per side, 8 million pixels per batch, 2048 exported frames and a 128 MiB ZIP. These caps are not a speed or memory guarantee.

Colour matching uses the browser's decoded RGB values. Browser colour management and alpha conversion can normalize RGB values, especially beneath transparent pixels. Original file bytes and PNG metadata are not preserved. This is a sprite workflow utility, not an archival PNG converter.

One user may use the application on their own devices for personal projects, business projects and client work. The built-in samples may be used and modified in your own projects. Sharing or reselling the application is excluded. The tool grants no new rights to imported art; you need permission to use and modify your inputs, and their existing terms still apply to exports.
